Lisa proposed at home on a Sunday afternoon on our front porch with her daughter, Hazel (15). She asked me to come outside so she could give me a ‘garden update’ which I politely declined. When I finally went out, they were playing one of my favourite songs, and after a rambling introduction, Lisa got down on one knee and proposed.
What was the date of your Big Day, your beautiful wedding:
Friday 9 November, 2018 around one year after the same sex marriage postal survey.
Where was the location of the wedding:
Abbotsford Convent. Our ceremony was in the Rosina Courtyard and reception in the Rosina Room.

We planned our wedding in around 5 months. We chose great suppliers and it was a really smooth process!
What colour themes were used in the wedding:
Blues, pinks and purple. Our friend designed our beautiful invites based on a hydrangea-purples and blues. My dress tied into a lovely and happy coincidence-floral fushia, blue and purple. Our bridal party wore pale pink, purple and blue and we had bright coloured flowers. It was great to have so much colour in our wedding.
Was there any tradition introduced into your wedding, “Something Old, Somehing New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue:
Sort of! I remembered in the days leading up. Luckily my new dress had a lot of royal blue in it, and I borrowed my sister’s diamond earrings that I gave her for her wedding alomost 10 years ago.
What were some of your favourite moments in the wedding with either your partner, family or friends:
We will never forget walking down the aisle and hearing everyone cheering, this was a truly amazing moment.
Who were your favourite vendors for the wedding:
All our vendors were amazing but particularly our celebrqant Karen Harvey and our photographer Gaelle Le Berre.
